Year 6 Use Animations to Show Great Migrations

Year 6 create animations to tell the story of a “Great Migration”.

Students in Year 6 are using their creative skills to retell stories of Great Migrations. First, students wrote scripts and created story-boards in their “Great Migrations” learning. Next, they created stop-motion animations that tell the story of a journey or migration. The range of stories is vast; from the retelling of known stories, animal migrations, refugee experiences, and personal experiences.

As a result, students demonstrate their understanding of their literacy skills in a hands-on and creative way. Using iMotion and iMovie, they are developing their technical skills. Finally, they learn that collaboration, communication, and problem-solving are key as they work together to unveil their creations.
