COVID-19 Update 23rd March

COVID-19 Update 23rd March

Eighteen countries added to the Category 2 high-risk country list…

Dear Parents,

We hope you and your family are safe and well during this unsettling time. Thailand continues to implement measures to prevent the spread of infection.

Eighteen places were added to the Category 2 countries:

From 22nd March:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Malaysia, Canada, Portugal, Brazil, Czech Republic, Israel, Ireland, Pakistan, Finland, Turkey, Greece, Chile, Luxembourg, Poland and Ecuador.

If you or a member of your family has travelled from / transited through or been in close contact with someone who has travelled from / transited through these places, your children are subject to a 14-day self-quarantine. In addition, Category 2 countries are subject to additional conditions as announced here. We encourage you to keep updated on these measures on official government websites such as the Ministry of Public Healthwebsite. The full list of the school’s high-risk countries are listed here.

Yesterday the BMA (Bangkok Metropolitan Authority) announced that all schools in Bangkok are closed until 12th April. We remain optimistic that we can open school shortly after this date.

We will be sending out a short survey to parents on Wednesday morning to get your initial feedback on the first week of Continuing Student Learning. It’s a very short survey and we value your input, so please complete it on Wednesday. We will share the results in Patana News this Friday.

Our plan is to continually update you when we have new information. Stay safe!

Best wishes,
Senior Leadership Team
